I created a website to share previous year question papers from various colleges, universities, and schools. Apart from that the website also contains papers from some competitive exams and Olympiads. It was first launched on 22nd February 2017 with the name of PastPapers on a free domain from .tk then last year I moved it to www.parikshapatr.com with a new name of ParikshaPatr.
ParikshaPatr is word made from combining two words Pariksha (meaning, Exam) and Patr (meaning, Paper). Currently, the website has papers from 2 Schools, 6 Colleges, 3 Competitive Exams and 3 Olympiads.
Little background on “How it started?”
I created this website when I was in high school. It was not an individual website like it is now, instead it was a part or more specifically a feature of another web project of mine, “A Social Network for School” (more about that in another post).
So, it was one of the features of that project on which I was working on since 2013 when I was in class 7th. After sometimes, I realized that past paper feature in itself can be a large project. Then, a small feature was turned into a full website in 2017.
How was the response?
I did my B.Sc. IT from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. I went to library, took question papers from every stream and converted it to pdf format and then uploaded it on my website. And the website used to record very high traffic at the night before exam.
It actually turned out to be life saver for many students across the streams. The primary reason for high traffic was that students didn’t have to go to the library to search their respective papers and then click its picture for the exam. The web application made papers from any year and any subject accessible at any time.

The goal of this website is to provide previous year question papers to students as solving previous year question papers plays a crucial role in exam preparation. For some schools and colleges, it will be relevant and for others it may not be. In terms of growth, the major roadblock or challenge is to develop a robust mechanism to acquire exam papers from schools and colleges.
